Brisbane Roar Youth will be looking to make it back-to-back wins at Ballinger Park when they take on Sunshine Coast Wanderers in a rescheduled Round 15 fixture on Tuesday night.
With the COVID-19 lockdown forcing postponements across the competition, both teams have had extra time to prepare for their first meeting since the second week of the season.
Young Roar head into the match with a psychological advantage after notching up a 4-0 victory in that March encounter, highlighted by goals from Rhys Gray, Cyrus Dehmie and Keegan Jelacic.
Chris Grossmann’s side have gone from strength to strength since then and sit second on the NPL Queensland ladder following their convincing 5-0 defeat of Eastern Suburbs just over a week ago.
Dehmie’s double at Heath Park improved his goal tally to 14 in 10 games this term, with 13 of those coming in his past six appearances.
Daniel Cuttler leads the way for the Wanderers with six goals, while Riley Campbell and Ethan Galbraith scored late off the bench to earn their side a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Capalaba FC last time out.
That was the Sunshine Coast side’s eighth victory of a strong campaign and fourth in five outings.
With just four points now separating the teams, it’s sure to be a stern test for Young Roar as they aim to keep the pressure on leaders Peninsula Power.
