Brisbane Roar Youth Head Coach Chris Grossmann says excitement is his prevailing emotion for tonight’s “vitally important” top-of-the-table clash with Peninsula Power.
Young Roar travel to AJ Kelly Park where they face the league leaders in what is expected to be a fierce encounter with title implications.
Grossmann’s side come into the fixture in hot form as they look to record a fifth successive victory that would take them into first place on the ladder.
“We’re excited,” Grossmann said. “Whenever you can pit yourself against the team that’s top of the table, you get excited for it.
“There’s a lot on the line for us this weekend, we want to finish as high as we can.
“It’s vitally important that we get three points. We’re going to be going out there and giving absolutely everything we’ve got. The boys have earnt the opportunity to go out there and do that and we’re excited for what lies ahead.”

The team will be on high on confidence after fighting hard with 10 men for a 4-2 win over a determined Moreton Bay United last time out.
“I think the boys played well,” Grossmann said. “The result is important to us because it puts us in a really good position coming into this weekend.
“Going down to 10 men when the game was level and to win 4-2, I think shows the great character our boys have got and the determination they’ve got to finish the season strongly.
“The proudest moment of the year so far for me is seeing the players grow, their belief, their character, their determination and their understanding now they are good footballers and when things go against them, it’s not a case of starting to worry and moan, they get on with it and that’s what it was like on the weekend.
“It’s a credit to the boys, and what they want to get out of this season.”
Saturday’s match is the first of four remaining regular season fixtures for Young Roar as the title race goes to the wire.
It can be watched live on NPL.TV or the Football Queensland Facebook page from 5:00pm.
